This Paua Blue Newborn Māori Baby Korowai Cloak is the perfect gift for the new baby (pepi). Gift it to your own baby, or your mokopuna.
A korowai is the perfect gift for the new baby. Use it for a very special photo. Later you can hang it on the wall - it would look beautiful in a glass fronted box.
The correct Māori name for it is kahu huruhuru, but many people, including Māori, still call it a korowai.
The korowai is machine sewn by a Māori lady from Auckland, New Zealand, to make it affordable for all. It measures approximately 37cm x 39cm (14 1/2" x 15 1/4").
The knitted taniko is black, aqua and royal blue, and the feathers are white, then paua.
Proudly made by Ngāti Porou, and shipped worldwide.
We can make it in other colours - check out the feather options here.
There is also the option of getting the korowai in a deluxe black gift box - perfect if this is a presentation piece. The photo of it is a representative photo - if ordered, you will receive the paua korowai in the black box.
