This large NZ Maori Bone Hook Necklace has cutout Koru and intricate surface carving, making it a standout piece.
The hei matau hook hangs from a black cord with adjustable sliding knot, so it is easy to put on or take off, and to adjust to sit right where you want it to.
The intricately carved hook measures approximately 6cm (2 3/8") long, and is made from cow bone, a by-product of the abattoir.
The Hook (hei matau) design carries a spiritual meaning of peace, prosperity, good health, and safe travel over water.
The Koru design has a spiritual meaning of peace, tranquility, positive change, and new beginnings.
