This NZ Ruru Morepork Owl Soft Toy plays the authentic sound of a ruru calling, when you press his tummy.
Part of a collection of New Zealand native birds with sound, the owl toy stands approximately 15cm (6") tall.
Ruru are a small dark brown native owl with a beige and brown mottled front, and the typically large owl eyes. They are nocturnal, eating a variety of insects, small animals like rats and mice, and smaller birds. They are mainly found in forested areas, but equally are often heard around residential areas. Their main call sounds like "morepork".

I bought this to take to my sister, who had previously bought one for her grandson when visiting me. Unfortunately, Ruru had a dip in the washing machine, and his sound no longer worked. No doubt the replacement was loved as much as the first one had been.
