Meat pies are a staple part of most Kiwis' diet, particularly in the winter. Popular flavours are steak 'n' cheese, mince, bacon & egg, and seafood. So for Kiwis out there in the wide world who want to make meat pies just like the ones you can purchase in New Zealand, here are the pie tins for you.
The individual pie tins are:
Square, measuring 4 1/4" (10.7cm) across the top, with the base measuring 3 1/8" (8cm) across and depth 25mm (1"), or
Oval, measuring 5 1/8" (13cm) long across the top and 3 1/2" (9cm) across the bottom and depth 1 1/8" (3cm), or
Round, measuring 4 3/8" (11.2cm) across the top, with the base measuring 3 1/4" (8.2cm) across and depth 1 1/8" (3cm).
Each of the pie tins has a self-cutting top i.e. roll your pastry across the top, press down, and the pastry will cut out to the shape of the top of the pie tin.

The pie tins are a nice size and work well. Just not as heavy as the ones I am used to in the Bakery, they tend to move a bit when rolling out the pie bottom over them, but otherwise, very happy.
These are the Best pie tins I have ever had, the pies just slip out of them, nothing sticks to the bottom. Far better than the non stick tins that stop being non stick after a few uses! Plus they are good and deep making for a great pie.

Wanted to bake my ohne New Zealand style mince&cheese pies since I have been in your beautiful country in 2013! Now I got the tins shipped to Germany and they work fantatstic. The shape is ideal, the self-cutting edge works perfect and the pies do not stick to the tin. Couldn't find something similar in Europe. Thank you so much!
My son spent six months in New Zealand and has greatly missed the pies. The mother of one of his friends recommended a cookbook for us and these pie tins make the pie making process much easier. I know our pies aren’t as good as the ones in New Zealand but we give it a good go!
