This Genuine NZ Greenstone Māori Toki Necklace ( Toki - pronounced "talky" - means "adze") with Carved Grooves is a great example of carving and binding. And it's also a stunning piece of New Zealand pounamu jewellery.
Māori designs all come with a spiritual meaning, and in the case of the Toki, the adze, the meaning is one of strength, control, determination and focus, everything one needs when one is carving. This is a great gift for anyone needing inner strength or determination. Great to wear, great to hold in your hand when you need its assistance.
This Toki is further enhanced with carved grooves, mimicking the binding.
The greenstone is luminously beautiful, but the binding adds the finishing touch. The cord has a sliding knot, so you can position it wherever you want.
The Greenstone Māori Adze pendant is approximately 2" (50mm) long, a large, chiseled piece. The lines cut into it are on a slight angle.
The necklace comes to you on a descriptive card. Wear it with pride!

string to Toki come undone after 3 days
We purchased a greenstone Toki necklace with beautifully carved grooves as a birthday gift for a very special young woman who was going through a tough time. I rang the company and explained that, as I was unable to choose the piece myself, I wanted to know if she could select one based on a description I provided. They were incredibly helpful and made the whole process so easy. We had the necklace posted directly to her, and she absolutely fell in love with it. She even took it to a river and blessed it, which made the gift even more special. She sent us a photo of it, and it was exactly what I had hoped it would look like.
