Meat pies are a staple part of most Kiwis' diet, particularly in the winter. Popular flavours are steak 'n' cheese, mince, bacon & egg, and seafood. So for Kiwis out there in the wide world who want to make meat pies just like the ones you can purchase in New Zealand, here are the pie tins for you.
The individual pie tins are:
Square, measuring 4 1/4" (10.7cm) across the top, with the base measuring 3 1/8" (8cm) across and depth 25mm (1"), or
Oval, measuring 5 1/8" (13cm) long across the top and 3 1/2" (9cm) across the bottom and depth 1 1/8" (3cm), or
Round, measuring 4 3/8" (11.2cm) across the top, with the base measuring 3 1/4" (8.2cm) across and depth 1 1/8" (3cm).
Each of the pie tins has a self-cutting top i.e. roll your pastry across the top, press down, and the pastry will cut out to the shape of the top of the pie tin.
