Grey NZ Slipper Socks with Sheepskin Sole - Warm and Comfy

These Grey NZ Slipper Socks have Sheepskin soles - the fleece on the inside and the skin on the outside.  They are designed and handmade in New Zealand, and only for ShopNZ.  

The slipper socks are great for people with circulation problems in their feet, and they are wonderful for wearing around the house in the wintertime. In fact I wear mine to bed! Perfect for invalids.

I created the initial pattern man years ago, and it has gone through several refinements.  The most recent change has been adding more height in the foot, making them roomier for your toes.

The socks are made from 2 strands of soft pure wool 8-ply, so are thick and warm. This is not the cheap type of wool that feels scratchy against the skin. The slipper socks extend up the leg about 8 1/4" (21cm), covering and keeping warm those all-important ankles.

The base of the slipper sock is New Zealand sheepskin, the hide on the outside and the wool on the inside, so you get a hardwearing grippy sole, and the cosiest of feet. Ideal for people who REALLY feel the cold! The wool fleece is around 1" (2.5cm) thick.

The socks are a classic Grey colour, with a very pale Blue stripe. Suitable for both men and women, and available in all adult sizes.

Our aim is to keep stock on hand at all times, but please allow a week for manufacture, just in case.

Shoe sizes can vary, but if you always wear a particular size, go with that size.  If you are unsure of which size to order, please get someone to measure the length of your foot while you stand with your foot against a wall, on a measuring tape or ruler. 

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: These lovely slipper socks are made for wearing around the house, preferably tucked up in a chair or on the sofa. They are not made to be worn outdoors.

CLEANING: The sheepskin fleece should only need a shake and an airing to keep it nice and fresh. But if necessary, you can handwash the whole sock in lukewarm water with a wool detergent. Do not soak. Just squeeze the suds through the sock, and then rinse well in cold water. Do not wring or rub. Squeeze the excess moisture out by wrapping the socks in a towel and standing on them. Dry in a warm spot away from direct heat. Easy!
