The 6cm long piece of greenstone is beautiful in itself.  The paua insert is a piece of New Zealand abalone shell, found only in New Zealand waters.  Paua shell has the most beautiful irridescent shades of blue, green, pink, and purple, and no two pieces are the same.

And the paua shell is cut in a Maori Koru design, symbol of peace, tranquility, new beginnings and positive change.
