But just as importantly, the silver encases the greenstone, and that's actually really important.

There are other greenstone studs out there, but many of these little slivers of greenstone rest on top of a base that they are glued to. And when you go to take them off, inevitably you are pulling at the greenstone, and eventually pulling it off its base.

These are different, because the pounamu is encased in sterling silver, so the greenstone isn't going to come apart from the silver. A little thing, but important.
