Ordering

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Absolutely, as long as we have not shipped it already. Please get in touch as soon as possible - a phone call is best. If you email your request and it is a super busy day when we are inundated with emails, we may not get to yours in time.

Do I need to create an account to order?

No. Just place your order, and we do the rest.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept: Visa, Mastercard, Union Pay, Amex, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zip, Afterpay, Internet Banking, and Bank Deposit. We will also do the old-fashioned layby for some purchases, where you pay in instalments over up to 8 weeks, and have the goods shipped once paid off.  Contact us for details.

Shipping and Delivery

Where do your products ship from?

All products ship from New Zealand.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are usually dispatched within 1–2 business days. Delivery times depend on your location and the shipping option selected at checkout. Allow approximately 2-3 days for deliveries to NZ, and 2 weeks for delivery to most international addresses.

Do you ship internationally?

We sure do!  We ship worldwide from New Zealand.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the delivery option you choose. There is also a handy shipping calculator at the bottom of the Cart page. You can play around with your order to see the changes in shipping cost when you add to/subtract from your order.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes. Tracking details are sent automatically once your order has been dispatched, where tracking is available for the shipping service selected. Airmail parcels are essentially not tracked (or insured), although you will receive details of when it ships and when it arrives in your country. But that is all. All other shipping methods track through to delivery.

What should I do if my parcel is delayed?

First, please check your tracking, in case that indicates a reason. Also check the address you provided at Checkout, to make sure it was correct. And please allow a little extra time during busy periods. If your parcel appears significantly delayed, with no reason shown in the tracking, please contact us and we will contact the shipping company for an update.

Duties and Taxes

Will I need to pay import duties or taxes?

Depending on your country, import duties, taxes, or customs fees may apply. These are set by your local customs authority and are your responsibility to check before placing your order. We do collect VAT for parcels to the UK valued under £135, and we collect USA tariffs and duties.  This makes for a smooth transit through the Customs process.

Why do taxes sometimes appear at Checkout?

For some destinations, taxes may be calculated and shown during checkout. This depends on the country, the products ordered, and the applicable tax settings for that country.

Returns and Exchanges

What is your return policy?

We accept returns on eligible items returned in original condition within the timeframe set out in our Returns Policy. Please refer to our full Refunds Policy page for details and conditions.

Can I exchange an item if it is not right?

Yes. We offer exchanges on eligible items returned in original condition.  Please refer to our Exchanges Policy page for details on the time frame allowed.

What if my item arrives damaged or faulty?

We inspect items carefully before shipping, and pack equally carefully, but sometimes "stuff happens".  If an item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos. Please do not throw away the packaging. We will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Gifts

Can I send an order directly as a gift?

Yes. Enter the recipient's name and address in the Shipping field at Checkout (and yours in the Billing section). If you enter a gift message at the bottom of the Cart page, before you get to the final Checkout page, we will automatically add a handwritten gift card and gift wrap, free of charge. Please note: when shipping overseas, international postal regulations prohibit us from labelling the parcel as a Gift.

Can I include a gift message?

Yes. Please enter your gift message at the bottom of the Cart page. If you forget that step, please send us an email with the details instead.

Do you offer gift packaging?

Gift wrapping is available on almost all items, and some items, like jewellery, glass items, korowai, and most trophies, have gift box options. For all other items, contact us for advice on what we can do.

Products

Are your products authentic New Zealand items?

Yes. ShopNZ specialises in genuine New Zealand gifts, including Māori and Kiwiana items sourced from New Zealand
makers and suppliers.
When it comes to souvenirs like magnets, keychains, etc, most of those suppliers design their goods in New Zealand but have them made overseas.
Anything made in New Zealand will be clearly described as that in the product description.

Do you provide care information for special items like greenstone or korowai?
