A Flat is a term used for a rental property, and 'Scarfies' is a nickname given to students from Otago University - so called because it's so damn cold down there in winter every student is rugged up in a scarf!If you attended Otago Uni, there is a very good chance you may have lived in one of these Flats or had friends who lived in one!
