Cute Plush Wellington Green Gecko Lizard Toy

This plush cuddly toy represents one of New Zealand's native lizards, the Wellington Green Gecko, also known as the Moko Kākāriki, or the Barking Gecko, due to the barking sound it makes when defending itself. The Wellington Green Gecko is found in the southern half of the North Island of New Zealand, living in trees .

I'm on a mission to take the fear out of kids' minds for New Zealand's creepy crawlies and other creatures - one plush toy at a time.  Conservation of these gecko is hugely important, as its numbers are declining due to introduced predators, habitat loss, and poaching.  What better way than to start with a cuddly toy, and a bit of education along the way.

This cute green gecko lizard measures approximately 37cm (14 1/2") long.
