This beautiful rectangular jewellery box is made from native timber Rimu. Rimu has a gorgeous honey colour and strikingly beautiful grain, and has been long favoured for making all sorts of goods, from trinkets to furniture.
The top of the box is decorated with a Rimu Maori Pikorua, accentuated with contrasting Paua shell inlay. The Maori Pikorua design represents two fern shoots growing and twisting together, and spiritually it signifies the enduring nature of true love or friendship, through all the twists and turns of life.
The box has a lift off lid. External dimensions are approximately 10.8cm x 5.3cm x 3.8cm. Inside, you can fit a necklace up to approximately 8cm long, and 3cm wide, with room around it.
Ideal for gifting with a treasured greenstone or bone necklace, or to give on its own as a beautiful gift from New Zealand. One of our photos shows a greenstone toki (not included) in the box.
