This beautiful Maori Wooden Bowl with Manaia Head is simply stunning.
Roughly one half is the bowl and the other, the carved Manaia head, complete with stunning paua shell eye.
The bowl measures approximately 28cm long, 13.5cm wide, and 3cm deep. it is made from sustainably sourced Tulip Wood.
Perfect for snacks or trinkets, or to simply look at and marvel over.
The Maori Manaia has a spiritual meaning. The manaia is a spiritual guardian, the provider and protector over land, sea and air (hence the bird-like head). it is believed to ward off danger and protect against intruders.

In a couple of the photos you will see a spoon, an optional extra while stocks last. The spoon is made from native Kauri, and embellished with native paua shell. it has been made as an olive spoon, with three holes in the spoon for draining.
