This beautiful Kiwi Bird Card is called "walking with aroha", and features a brown kiwi bird strolling through New Zealand's native bush.
The kiwi bird sports a lovely mānuka flower crown, and is accompanied by a selection of lesser known native insects, including the hura (giant centipede), pupurangi (kauri snail), kahukura (red admiral butterfly), pepe para riki (common copper butterfly), pepe ao uri (common blue butterfly)m and mumutawa (ladybird).
Native foliage in the print includes kauri leaves, cones and seeds, tānekaha leaves, rimu leaves, tōtara leaves, silver fern, and mānuka flowers and leaves.
This gorgeous kiwi greeting card is designed by Northland Tattoo Artist Katy Hayward.
I've known Katy for many years, as she went to Ngunguru School with my daughter. And I have delightedly watched her growth as an amazing tattoo artist, predominantly decorating her customers' skin with the most finely detailed, intricate tattoos of New Zealand's wonderful wildlife.
Now she has turned her skills to decorating bone china and cards, and I look forward to more from her.
This is an A6 (104mm x 148mm) card, with matching white envelope.
