This Maori Bone Pikorua Twist Heru Comb is a beautiful piece with lots of surface carving.
The sturdy 4-prong hair comb is approximately 16cm (6 1/4") long, and comes to you in a black box.
At the top of the heru is a pikorua, or double twist. The Maori double twist design represents two fern shoots intertwining and growing together, and signifies true love or friendship between two people.
The heru was created to hold and decorate a top knot. The design signified rank.
