Small Genuine NZ Greenstone Tiki Necklace

This Small Genuine NZ Greenstone Tiki Necklace is a fine example of pounamu carving.

The greenstone is from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.  It's carved into the shape of the Tiki, the first mortal born to the Gods. Tiki is also a strong fertility symbol, with the hands on the loins symbolising fertility.

The Tiki is a good luck charm, and believed to give the wearer clarity of thought and great inner knowledge.

Perfect for someone who wants a small necklace the pounamu Tiki measures approximately 4cm (1 1/2") long.  Note the cord is strung behind the head.  The cord is black and adjustable.  The eyes are made from New Zealand paua shell, our native abalone shell found only in New Zealand waters.
