This Tan Brown and Jade Short Ceremonial Korowai is perfect for graduations or other ceremonies where it provides the look of a korowai without the full length. It would also be ideal as a gift to a person with Tainui whakapapa, as the green and brown shades represent strong connections with papaatuanuku (the land) and ngahere (forest).
This korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Māori lady of Ngati Porou descent.
It has a Tan, Black and White knitted taniko top, with tan, dark brown and jade feathers. If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.
The taniko has a patiki pattern, representing the shape of the flounder. Spiritually, the flounder signifies peace, abundance, and care of others.
This korowai measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8") deep. It is lined with black fabric.
The korowai is also available in a deluxe black gift box - perfect if this is a presentation piece. The photo of the boxed short korowai is a representative photo, showing one of our other short korowai boxed.
