This large 57cm (22") long Wooden Māori Tiki is a wonderful specimen of New Zealand carving, made in Rotorua, home to Māori whakairo.

The Tiki is made from tulip wood, a sustainably harvested hardwood.  Its eyes are made from pāua shell, our native abalone, found only in NZ waters.

The Māori Tiki represents the first born human.  It can also represent the embryo, as well as connection to ancestors.  The tiki is considered to be a symbol of good luck, and of fertility.

The tiki is made to hang on the wall.  There is a hole on the back so you can hang it from a screw.

Proudly made in New Zealand, and shipped worldwide.
