Double Twist Maori Bone Necklace with Paua Trim

This double twist Maori Bone Necklace is simple but elegant, with a strip of native paua shell giving it that special look.

The twist design is called a Pikorua, and represents two fern shoots growing together.  The design has a spiritual meaning, signifying true love or friendship between two people.  That love or friendship navigates the ups and downs, the twists and turns of life, but never fails to endure.

The cow bone necklace is approximately 4cm (1 1/2") long.  No two necklaces are the same, as the paua shell used as a beautiful blue/green trim is unique.  No two paua shells are the same.  Paua is our native abalone shell, found only in NZ waters.

The bone twist hangs from a long black cord with adjustable knots, so you can wear it where you want on your chest.
