Spiritually, Maori thought of sharks as guardian spirits. In Maori mythology, the Milky Way is the shark Te Mangoroa, placed in the sky by the god Maui. Sea creatures were believed to be the children of the god Punga. Several Maori legends talk of sharks saving them from danger.
So this is a wonderful guardian piece to wear around your neck.
The cow bone mock shark tooth measures approximately 6.5cm (2 5/8") long, and hangs from a long black adjustable cord.
The front surface of the shark tooth is beautifully carved with Koru, symbol of peace, tranquility, new beginnings and personal change.
