This Maori Bone Tiki Necklace with Patu is a good size, and intricately carved. A beautiful piece of cow bone carving.
The Tiki depicts the first mortal born to the Gods. It is a fertility symbol, with the hands on the loins symbolising fertility.
The Tiki is also a good luck charm, and believed to give the wearer clarity of thought and great inner knowledge.
This Tiki has paua shell eyes, carving to symbolise moko tattoo, and holds a patu, specifically a kotiate. The kotiate has notched sides, perfect for locking onto an opponent's weapon, or entwine their internal organs.
The cow bone tiki hangs from a black cord looped through the back of the tiki.
The cord is long and adjustable.
